Happy 4th of July!
Our Independence Day started out bright and early so we could make it to the annual Peachtree City Parade with friends. For all of my Utah friends, this town is all about golf carts and they have golf cart paths and everyone cruises around in golf carts all the time, all year round. They even have golf cart bridges and underground tunnels to get around the busy streets. So, it is very fitting that this parade is 90% golf carts -- all decked out for the holiday. Some are super cool and actually look more like floats and others, not so much. It's really not my definition of a real parade but it's fun and different and I think I wrote all about that last year when I had a really bad, pregnant attitude about this parade....Anyway, the kids got tons of candy and little toys, flags and other fun things that get thrown at them from the parade participants. It was really fun and it was even more fun not to be pregnant this year! :)
After the parade and lunch, we went home to let Ryan take his long afternoon nap so he'd be well rested for the rest of the festivities to come. Dinner time, we were suppose to head to a church that puts on this huge BBQ and then it started to pour down rain. We waited until it was just drizzling to walk over there and then we saw the line and decided we'd just eat out somewhere else. It all worked out fine except for my hair. After dinner, we went to stake our ground for the fireworks over Lake Peachtree. The firework show was awesome!! The first few "booms" scared Eric but then he settled down and realized that fireworks were cool. I was worried about Ryan but he loved it!! He laid in his stroller and squealed and smiled. He did flinch and blink with every "boom" but it was so cute!!
All in all, we had a great 4th! We had great friends and nothing beats fireworks with my sweet husband who still steals sweet kisses while we watch. (Thanks babe!)
