33 Weeks

I had seriously decided not to take anymore maternity shots of myself and if by chance I did, just for our little family's sake, I was definitely NOT going to post any on the internet for all to see but it's amazing what a new pair of shoes can do for your pregnant self esteem!! Maybe I'm in "la-la land" on this so just indulge me right now because I was feeling pretty good about myself last night and it's one of the only times this entire pregnancy that I've felt somewhat attractive. Now, I know I still have a little bit to go and I am fully aware that I will only get bigger (ugh) but just let me bask in my pregnant glow for now. =) Without further ado, here I am at 33 weeks....

**now that I actually posted this...I'm having second thoughts....but I tell ya, last night I felt great about it!**

A Child's Prayer

At our house, it's always Eric's turn to say the prayer. He refuses to let Jene or I say it, which is fine by us because it's good for him to keep learning and it's cute that he wants to say the prayer too...it gives you that "happy/proud parental moment". =)
Anyway, I can't resist in sharing this little gem of a prayer that Eric said at dinner a couple of nights ago....(sorry there is no darling picture of Eric with his arms folded and his eyes squinted kinda shut, kinda open while saying this).

First of all, I start to help him and then instead of copying what I say Eric goes off and says this....

"Deewer Heavenly Father, thank dee for dis day. Thank dee that my Daddy is big and strong. Jesus Christ, amen." (oh and after he says amen, every time without fail, he claps and says "YAY!")

After we say amen and cheer, I look over at Jene and of course, he is just BEAMING from ear to ear. So cute!! Then after a moment or two of basking in this cute moment I thought, "hey, what about Mommy?!?" Couldn't he have added "Thank dee that my Mommy is beautiful?!" Oh well...Dream on Mommy...Dream on...

Mixed Emotions

I don't really know where to begin this post but today, I'm feeling very contemplative. Maybe it's all the rain we've had the past couple of days or maybe it's just hormones, who knows? But whatever it is, I thought I'd write it down because 1. my blog is like my journal and 2. I don't really write a lot of posts like this anymore. So here I go....

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about how life is going to be as a mother of two and as ready as I feel I am for our little family to expand and grow and as excited as I am to meet our new little man, I can't help but feel kind of sad and nervous about it too!
I'm sad because its been just the 3 of us for almost 3 years and I don't want our 3 Musketeer act to go away. We have our routines and things pretty much figured out (with the exception of potty training which we are dealing with now...that's a whole other post to come...). I just know our lives are going to be turned upside down for a bit when new baby comes and in a selfish way, I don't want that to happen!! I'm also sad that I have to share all of my time with Eric with someone else. Does this make sense or make me sound too selfish? Oh well, if it does, I don't care because that's how I feel.

Now, I'm nervous not only for obvious reasons about being a new Mommy again but how am I going to love this little guy as much as I love Eric?! If it were a baby girl, I might not feel so nervous about this but because it's another boy, I'm a little scared. I'm sure all of you other Moms out there with more than one child can understand this...I've heard from many women that they went through this same thought process. They all assure me that as soon as we meet our new baby boy, we will be over the moon and totally shocked at how much we love him right away. I'm pretty sure this is what the case will be but I can't help but worry because I haven't been there. This is yet another exciting chapter in our lives and I'm anxiously waiting to experience Motherhood all over again!
