Alabama Boys

The weekend of Jene's birthday, his brothers and Dad decided that they needed a little "manly bonding" time and planned a weekend of fishing in Alabama.  The guys were put up in a Bed and Breakfast that is owned by Jene's brother, Andrew's father in law. (does that make sense...I wrote that like 3 times...oh well)  Anyway, Andrew's in-laws were nice enough to host the boys Friday and Saturday.  Jene said they had a great time and it was good to have all of his brothers there as well as his Dad.

After they spent Friday and Saturday fishing.  Jene and his brother Mike drove back to Atlanta and enjoyed a Braves game.  Then, finally, (this weekend seemed like the longest weekend ever) Jene came home to us so we could sing him Happy Birthday and celebrate with some cake!!

I wanted to put up a picture of all of the Brothers and Dad BUT none of them thought to take one of all of them....silly boys!  So, I had to put up some individual shots.

Jene and his fishy
Mike or Mikey as we call him and his fishy
Andrew and Dad caught fishies too
This is the only picture we had of Crockett...sorry man.  Blame your brother.
 Pretty scenery

Lucky Number 7

We sure are lucky to have this cute 7 month old in our family!

Isn't he just the cutest?  He has the sweetest demeanor.
You can just tell he's so sweet and happy just by looking at that little face!
(Pictures by the fabulous Brittany Clarke)

I can't believe it's been over half a year since little Ryan joined our family!  Time is just slipping away from me.

Ryan is still our happy little man!  His two top teeth are just peeking through his gums by now.

Ryan can sit up for moments at a time but I can't leave him alone sitting, yet.  He doesn't show any interest in sitting, actually.  Every time we "practice" he arches his back and fights me.  Oh well...

Ryan is showing more interest in crawling than sitting, for sure!  He gets on all fours and rocks.  Sometimes he gets up on his feet and hands.  He can kind of scoot around to where he wants but no signs of an army crawl.  I find that kinda funny because Eric was army crawling all over before he ever figured out to get on all fours.  Maybe Ryan won't ever move like that and just go straight to normal crawling...who knows?  I'm content with his lack of mobility because I know what's in store once he starts.

Ryan can say, "Ma-Ma" and "Ba-Ba" and now "Da-Da".  Eric keeps trying to get him to say his name but we keep telling him that Eric is a hard name to say.

Ryan ADORES even IDOLIZES Eric.  Eric is the only one who can get Ryan to really laugh hard.  Jene and I can get small giggles but Eric gets the big laughs.  Ryan is constantly watching Eric.  Ryan doesn't even like his little baby toys because Eric doesn't play with them.  Instead, Ryan wants to gnaw on cars and mega legos because that's what Eric is into right now.  It's too adorable!!

We Love You Ry-Ry

Memorial Day

This post will be short and sweet because I only took 1 picture on Memorial Day....

This picture pretty much sums up how our day went!  We took the boys to the pool in the morning with some friends and had a barbeque and game night with friends....just like everyone else in the world probably did.  We had a GREAT day!

Cupcakes and a Pirate

The day after the Father Son Campout was my good friend Brittany's little girl's birthday party.  It was a Pirate and Princess theme (darling).  She put her faith in me to make all of the cupcakes.  That's really what I did while Jene and Eric were gone and after I put Ryan down for the night.  I really enjoy baking and decorating...it can be stressful and it's so time consumming but I really do love it.  I just wish I had more professional training...so far, I'm mostly self taught.  Although, my Mom did wedding cakes and birthday cakes all growing up so I did observe and help out a lot but I'm a far cry from the skills of my amazing Mom.  Anyway, we went with simple but cute cupcakes for this party.  For the girls, strawberry cake with a whipped buttercream, pale pink frosting with a white chocolate crown on top and for the boys a milk chocolate cake, with chocolate lovers frosting with a pirate flag topper and "gold" coin on top.  I thought they turned out pretty cute!

The party was so darling!  Brittany put together such cute decorations and all.  When the kids first arrived she dressed them up as either a pirate or princess and sent them on a treasure hunt...anyway, it was really fun for everyone involved.  Eric loved it and didn't want to leave.  He sure made a cute pirate!!

Father Son Campout

May was a very busy month for our family.  From Birthday Parties to Memorial Day....it may take me a few posts to give you the full recap of our month.

First things first...
Jene and Eric's first Father and Son Campout!  Our ward had the campout the weekend after Mother's Day and Jene couldn't have been more excited to take Eric.  Friday, Jene came home from work a couple of hours early to get things ready and off they went!  Jene said they had a great time.  Eric loved s'mores, of course, that's no surprise and who doesn't like a good s'more?  Before bed, Jene said they started playing that campfire story game where they go around the circle and everyone adds onto the story, one line at a time...you know what I'm talking about,  right?!  Anyway, Jene said that Eric was cracking everyone up with his parts of the story.  If you know Eric well, you know that this kid can make up a story and go on and on and on.  I wish we had it recorded!  I have to be honest, I was a little sad that the moms weren't invited.  I wanted to see all of the excitement and facial expressions of every "first" on that campout.  Oh well...he and Jene got some bonding time and I got to have some one on one time with my cute chunk, Ryan.  Oh, the best part of the campout for me....When Jene and Eric pulled up the next day and when Eric saw me he ran, with arms wide open, yelling, "Mommy! Mommy!" and gave me the biggest hug ever!  So sweet and movie-like.  Precious.
